Nigerian members please tune to Radio Nigeria Kapital FM, Abuja at 8:00 pm tomorrow Monday 23 February 2009.

Here's a fantastic opportunity for our members to do something about Millennium Development Goal No.2, universal primary education, by publicizing this series of broadcasts.

Call any teachers you know, as well as people who would like to be teachers. Contact schools in your area and let them know about these broadcasts to "empower, connect and celebrate teachers and other information providers dedicated to educational development in Nigeria."

Oxford Africa Link's Team 2 is devoted to achieving MDG 2, and is concerned about the large numbers of children that never get a proper education. We are aware of several reasons for this, such as:

Shortage of teachers.
Quality of teachers.
Lack of sufficient schools.
Lack of amenities and teaching materials in schools.
Some parents keeping their children out of school.
Lack of transportation to distant schools.
Lack of funds or commitment by government authorities.
You can see from this enclosed letter that Teachers Without Borders are extremely dedicated to improving education in Africa, and like our group they work towards achieving MDG 2.

It would be good for all our MDG Team 2 members join with Teachers Without Borders, and find a way that our two groups can collaborate together on some future practical projects.
